Samsung unveils new 5 inch Galaxy Grand smartphone
Samsung has today unveiled a new smartphone called the Galaxy Grand.
The device runs on the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system and features a 5in display.
Other features include a dual-core 1.2 Ghz processor, 1 GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera offering HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front camera. The handset comes with 8GB of internal memory and a microSD memory expansion slot.
Samsung also revealed that the Galaxy Grand will be sold in two variations: the 19080, using a single SIM service, and the 19082, which will offer dual-SIM functionality, allowing customers to use two separate phone numbers from the same device.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy Grand will be able to connect to HSPA+ networks but does not offer 4G. It will also come equipped with built-in features such as S-Voice, Samsung's rival to Apple's Siri voice-activated assistant.
Samsung has yet to reveal the pricing of the handset and when it will be available in the UK. The Galaxy Grand is likely to be showed off at CES 2013 in January, which ITProPortal will be covering.
